Tools and Hardware Reviews of Delta Faucet 75152 Water Amplifying Adjustable Showerhead with H2OKINETIC Technology, ChromeCustomer Review: Prompted a first product review, from an old cynic. Summary: 5 Stars
I'm 57 and have never bothered to review a product before. This unit deserves one.
I bought this to replace an old shower head, in an old house, in a city in MA, that is now rumored to have the highest water rates in the USA.
My wife has a daily shower at 5am, and the noise of the flow through the copper pipes, apart from waking me up (and making me wanna go pee) seemed to go on for ever.
Another problem that we had is that, after about 2 minutes, the cold water in the mix arrived from the old clay pipe water mains which are about 10 feet down. In granite. In New England. In winter. It would suddenly (and shockingly) drop the temperature to tepid.
I did not expect a lot from an economical unit such as this.
This unit has:
1. Reduced the "pipe noise" level to where I thought initially my wife had given up showering!
2. Produced an increase in water pressure and rinsing action that allows my wife to rinse her hair in a fraction of the time.
3. Cut our water use bill by about 35%
4. Nearly eliminated the cold water shock problem described.
In short, I was so impressed that my 1st thought was to buy a lifetime supply of these just in case they stop making them!
Customer Review: Absolutely Amazing Amplification Summary: 5 Stars
So when I first came to this product and saw someone mention that it had improved the force of the water in the shower, I was a little skeptical. As we all know, many products are a lot of talk, and a little walk. However, this shower head does not follow suit. My water pressure (concerning the rate of flow from the outlet) is absolutely horrid. If you have the washing machine/sink/toilet on while trying to, say, fill the kitchen sink up with water, you might as well forget doing it anytime soon. The water will just be a trickle (literally). So transitioning this to the shower, the force was pitiful. I might as well use a kids yard sprinkler. But this shower head completely exceeded my expectations on creating a real shower spray. Yes, from the picture, the outlets seem a little odd and you might think it wouldn't form well beyond the shower head, but it does, no problem. I completely understand how some reviewers were experiencing the 'pins' if your initial pressure was moderately reasonable. But if you have really low water pressure, and you have been searching for a shower head that will put more of a 'punch' in the water, this is definitely the product to buy and at a price you can't beat.
Customer Review: Better than I could have hoped!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I have never written a review for a product, but felt compelled to do so after my experience with this showerhead. For over seven years I have lived in an apartment with extremely low water pressure. While, as expected, rinsing shampoo from my hair was a chore, I also had to specifically run each limb under the water to rinse off the soap. Any houseguest that used my shower asked how I could stand to live that way. That said, I knew any new showerhead would help. However, I wasn't expecting this one from Delta to be SO DAMN GOOD!!! It was very easy to install (though I will echo other reviewers in saying that it would be nice for them to include the small amount of plumbers tape needed). My first shower was completely shocking. The water pressure was great. I tried the higher setting, assuming I would need it, but was wrong. The lower setting is more than enough. Also, I was worried that the flow would be too misty, as it is a low-flow showerhead. Again, I was wrong. Having lived with low water pressure for so long, this almost felt like a massager! This easily stacks up to to any shower experience I've had in nice hotels. I couldn't be happier!!!
Customer Review: Very pleasantly surprised ! Summary: 5 Stars
I initially wanted a lower flow showerhead because I have a small water heater and it runs out of hot water in about 15 mins or so with an old 2.5gpm showerhead. I figured, just doing the math, at 1.85gpm, hot water should last about 33% longer. In fact, i think its closer to 50-60%! The reason being that a slower flow basically allows my heater to continue heating more water longer while i'm taking a shower. If you ever run out of hot water, I would definitely recommend getting this showerhead!
Anyways, the chrome design is nice and it installed in about 30 seconds. I didn't even need sealant tape on the threading (though I would recommend you use it). Also, there is a knob to adjust the waterspeed from 1.85 to 2.5gpm. The best of all is that it really doesn't feel like a low flow showerhead. I think it has to do with the way it beads the water into larger droplets. Some low flow shower heads will spray the water out in a thin stream which can give a "stinging" sensation, but not this one! The stream feels full and covers a wide area. All-in-all, I am very happy with this purchase!
Customer Review: It's so good, I had to get a second one :) Summary: 5 Stars
I was looking for an affordable shower head to replace the expensive one I bought that wasn't worth the cost. (Fortunately, I was able to return it.) When the shower head arrived from Amazon, I immediately took it upstairs to install. The showerhead felt substantial in my hands, not too 'cheap' and not too heavy. I couldn't believe how easy it was to install and how quick too (about 30 seconds.) I was almost afraid that I had done something wrong because it was so easy. I turned it on and everything seemed fine, no leaks or spurts.
I've had the showerhead for a couple of weeks now. It performs wonderfully; like having my own steam shower! It's also extremely strong considering it's a low flow showerhead. I haven't found it necessary to adjust it to amplify the water pressure because it's already stronger than I had imagined it would be.
All said, I've been extremely satisfied with the shower head that I ordered a second one for my guest bathroom!
PS ~ It also makes me feel better about my time spent in the shower because it's energy efficient as well as low flow.
