Description of Delta 36-675 10-Inch Right Tilt 1-1/2 Horsepower Contractor Saw with 30-Inch T2 Fence and 2 Steel Extension Wings, 120/240-Volt 1 Phase

Back in the day, table saws were noisy, difficult to maintain, and most of all dangerous. Now we have the newer Delta 36-675 with its "right-on" accurate 30-inch T2 Fence System, so you really no longer have to use a tape measure against the blade. Lots of power in a 115-volt, 1-1/2 horsepower, two capacitor motor, V-belt drive and especially the Steel Wings for added stability of the stock. This gives the saw a table size of 40 by 27 inches, which is ideal for on-site or shop woodworking. With saw like this you could easily build cabinets rather than buy them out of the box. When in full operation the Delta 36-675 runs so smoothly that there is little or no vibration. For safety the power switch is located up front where it is easily accessible for emergency shutoff should you ever need it. -- C. Dwight Barnett

Customer Review: Excellent Tablesaw!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

Well I purchased this saw back in 2005. Since I primarily am a novice, with big woodworking ambition, and with no more than 3 years woodworking experience in high school, I can't brag about my 30 years of cabinetry experience, or contractor experience. What I can tell you is that after 3 years of high school woodworking, and a couple of decades watching Norm, and now recently furniture artist, David Marks, I am hooked!!
When I went shopping for a tablesaw here in Houston, I found a local tool store who had a Delta 36-675 set up. After looking at Sears, and at other tablesaws, and a few tips from my old woodshop teacher, I focused on the rip fence. When I first encountered the Delta 36-675, with the T-2 fence, I moved the fence to 4 3/4" to the blade. Walked to the tape measure section, and grabbed a tape measure, and measured the front and the rear of the blade to the fence, and it was set dead on, I was sold!!
Setup was extremely easy, with the instruction booklet. I only needed a blade guard adjustment, and of course a fence adjustment, and I haven't had to touch anything since. I soon after purchased a dado insert, and set of dado blades, and in my image of the saw an extension table. Since then I've added a link belt (buy this while purchasing your saw, and install it in lieu of the factory belt, you will not believe the difference it makes!!!).
I encountered some surface rust over the last 2 years, and read a great thread on the Delta website, indicating to spray the top with Slick 50 spray lube, and sand the top with 400 grit wet dry. This worked so effectively at removing the rust, it even gave the top that vintage cast iron look!! I live in Houston, where our humidity is always looming in the 90-100% range, and have not seen the rust return. Excellent preventative repair!!
I've recently removed the Delta table wing, and replaced it with a Rockler router table extension wing, with a Rockler/Jessem FX Lift. It looks great, and I can't wait till later on this month to buy my Porter Cable 893PK for it, and give it a test drive!!! I only build in the cooler months, since my 2 car garage is also my wood shop, and I can't wait for our 1st cool front!!!
I bought this from Amazon, and it came with free shipping, however, the shipper (ABF) called and told me that they couldn't deliver to my residence. One call to Amazon, and they refunded some money so that I could arrange for a local delivery company to pick it up, and deliver it to my residence. When I originally was looking for a tablesaw, I was interested in brand, quality, and the rip fence. Since this experience, I've also added customer service as a deciding factor.
I've recently purchased a Delta 14-651 Mortiser from Amazon, even with the shipping issues, because I knew that if I encountered a problem with a broken tool, I had Amazon behind me. Sure enough, mine came cracked, and broken. One call to Amazon, and had another one here, in pristine condition, in less than 3 days, no questions asked. I've also purchased a new lawn mower from Amazon, after our local Sears completely irritated me, and lost my business for good.
Customer service is such an overlooked factor, like with my experience with Sears regarding the lawnmower. After I ordered the Poulan Lawn Mower, I emailed Amazon, and notified them of their customer service level they set for the customer. In my opinion, ALL companies should use Amazon's customer service training, as a template. After all, we all have a choice where we spend our hard earned dollars, why should we settle for mediocre, or even poor customer service, when there is Amazon.com??
In my opinion, this is a great tablesaw, regardless of origin of build, made even better by Amazon's exceptional customer service!! I'm very satisfied with it, and will enjoy using it long into the future!!
