This is one awesome machine that illustrates why Delta owns a major chunk of the market in reasonably priced, vairable-speed drill presses. The 3-hp motor provides plenty of power for a variety of drilling jobs. The ability to continuously vary the speed of the drill allows you to find just the right surface feed per minute (SFM) for the drill and the material at hand.The large, precision-ground production table provides an adequate space for just about any piece you will want to cut. It can rotate 360 degrees and has a large screw-handle to lock it in place.
One of the principal features of this press is the extra-long quill travel. The full 6-inch quill stroke helps simplify deep-hole drilling jobs and provides the clearance necessary for adding jigs and other accessories. Jodi Johnson
