Customer Review: Pefection. 95% collection using 2 1/4" Shop Vac

My expectations were exceeded with this.
I used the 540 model. Hood mated perfectly. Installation took less than a minute.
I used a 6.5hp wet/dry craftsman shop vac with a 2 1/2" hose.
Planed 6" wide bloodwood (notorious for it's messy red sawdust!) at about 1/16" per pass.
Took an 1/8" pass too see how it would deal with larger chunks - and it gobbled them right up.
I also fed on the edges and it channeled the dust nicely toward the vacuum port.
NOTE: For those using 2.5" hoses - the reducer Amazon recommends is NOT correct ("Woodstock W1044 4-to-2-1/2-Inch Reducer").
Shame on me for not double-checking Amazon. The 2 1/2 is correct, but the 4" is not. I just
used some duct tape to join it to the dust collector and it worked great. Again, my fault, for
not double-checking Amazon - this is not a knock on the Delta product.
