The DELTA 36-981 10-inch Left Tilt 1-1/2 Horsepower Contractor Saw features a powerful 1-1/2 HP induction motor that makes quick work of your toughest cutting operations. It has a precision-milled arbor face flange, a durable work surface made of cast iron, and has independent height and bevel controls so you can adjust the blade precisely. Thanks to its convenient mobile base, you can easily move it around your work area, and there is a 4-inch dust port that will fit most common vacuums. A T-slot miter gauge is also included with positive stops at 45 and 90 degrees. Both the blade carriage and the trunnion are also made of cast iron, so vibration is minimized. This set includes a 30-inch DELTA Unifence System that adds versatility and accuracy. Customer Review: Solid saw with great features for the money

I did not buy this saw as a package but bought the 36-979 (the saw) from Amazon using their price match policy to get a good deal and bought the fence at Lowe's. Putting the saw together took some time (about 3 hours) and better have someone help you when attaching the stand to the saw body because this is a heavy saw. The stand comes with rollers which is great but installing them requires patience because unless you have tiny hands they will be hard to bolt to the legs.
I then continued assembling the Unifence. This is fairly straightforward except that my saw did not have threaded holes on the right wing to directly connect the extension table that came with it. I ended up using different hardware to attach the extension table.
Once everything was assembled I turned it on and it's a pretty quiet saw with barely any vibration. I haven't done many cuts yet but I'm sure I will not be disappointed.
UPDATE: I've had this saw for some time now and have tried it using different thicknesses of wood. I has sufficient power for 4/4 boards and you can tell it takes a little more effort with 8/4 boards. I had a little trouble with the switch not turning on several times but the problem seems to have gone away on its own (maybe a dirty contact?). Dust collection is ok. I've got it connected to a 1250 CFM dust collector but unless you collect some of the dust above the table, you will always end up with dust. Overall, I'm satisfied with this saw as an entry level saw. I really wish there was a riving knife that could be adapted to it (easier and safer than removing the splitter for certain cuts).
UPDATE: After owning this saw for about a year and a half, the switch finally stopped working (how hard can it be to make a good switch???). It stopped clicking and the saw would not start. I called Delta for a warranty replacement and had a new switch within a week.
